Protest against Egypt President Mohammed Mursi

People in Egypt have been protesting in Cairo against the Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi for granting himself sweeping new powers.

Protesters said that they do not want another regime of dictatorship like that of the ousted President Hosni Mubarak whom Mohammed Mursi succeeded.

People have been demanding the Egyptian President to withdraw the president’s decree or the constitutional declaration.

The constitutional constitution says that no authority could revoke the President’s decisions.

Protest in Egypt against President Hosni Mubarak

The protesters in Egypt have been marching on the street demanding Mubarak to step down as president of Egypt. President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt has been in power for 30 years already. The protesters have been calling for democratization and a government that they feel represents them.

As anti-government demonstrations continue, Egypt’s armed forces said that it will not use force nor violence against the demonstrators.
