Children of poor British families were brought to Australia in a program called ‘The Child Migrants Programme’ that ended 40 years ago. Those children were promised of a better life but ended up abused and forced into labor. Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd formally apologized on Monday to those British migrant victims known as the ‘Forgotten Australians’.
